Close to Hanmer Springs lies the Hanmer Springs ski area, a friendly country ski field for all ages and stages of skiers and snowboarders.
Operated by the Amuri Ski Club, the field has good skiing for beginning to experienced skiers and can also accommodate snowboarders with natural and groomed pipe riding. The season runs from early July until mid-September, and the field is open from dawn to dusk.
There are two tow ropes and a poma lift, and the charges for these are very affordable. Ski instruction is available and there’s a heated day lodge with toasted sandwich makers and tea/coffee facilities.
There is comfortable lodge accommodation for 50 people in family rooms and bunkrooms, including self-catering accommodation.
